The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) began the installation of 100 transformers within states in the South-East to boost electricity supply during the Yuletide festivities last month, NAN/The Guardian report.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the states are Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo.
EEDC’s Head of Communications, Mr Eugene Anionwo, told NAN in Enugu that the move would further strengthen electricity supply in the zone in 2016 and beyond. Anionwo said that the company had also begun repairs of its distribution equipment in sub-stations and streets throughout the zone.
