Gombe Loses 33 Police Officers to Insurgents in 2015

The Gombe State Police Commissioner, Austine Iwar, has revealed that the Command lost 33 police officers while fighting insurgents and providing other protective services.

The Police Commissioner stated this yesterday during the Special prayer session offered for their departed officers during the year adding that the gallant officers died in the line of duty while many of them sustained various degree of injuries.

According to him, “There is something special in each of the fallen police officers because they gave their lives under different circumstances, but for no reason than to serve and to protect our communities and our country”.

The police boss explained that each of the officers being remembered faced danger every working day, like each member or officer in the Command. In his words, “Each morning, a Police wakes up, prepare for work knowing fully well that chances exist in which they may never make it back home”.
