Nationwide Tour: What Al-Makura Told Fashola In Lafia

The Minister of Power, Works, and Housing Development Babatude Fashola, began his inaugural nationwide tour to inspect Federal Government project across the country with a stop-over in Lafia, the Nasarawa State Capital where he was hosted by the governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.
The governor who was on ground to receive the minister said Nasarawa State is cardinal to Nigeria, in terms of development, especially because of its proximity to federal capital.
The Governor who lamented that Nasarawa, Benue, Plateau that has only 33kv line, appealed to federal government to provide 3330kv lines to augment the existing one.
Al-Makura also urged the minister to institute a federal housing scheme in the state, saying most of federal government workers are living in Nasarawa state hence the need for federal government to pay their housing needs.
Faashola, on his part told the people that the Federal Government has concluded plans to embark on people oriented project as pledged by the present administration during her campaign tour.
The Minister who was accompanied by his entourage said, they were in Nasarawa to see ongoing and completed Federal project.
He said, “We are on a nationwide tour to inspect project that have been executed and the one about to be executed. We are here also to see roads that need our attention.
“We are also here to see possibility of housing development scheme, and in respect of power installation in the state,” Fashola said.
