‘Nigerians Will Enjoy Economic Impact of Buhari's Govt This Year'


Nigerians have been urged to exercise patience with the administration of President Muhammodu Buhari with assurance that they would start feeling the economic impact of his government in 2016.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Osun state who aspired for a seat in the House of Representatives during the last general elections, Prince Ayodele Kusamotu made this known in Ikirun while meeting with the people of Boripe/Odo-Otin/Ifelodun federal constituency where he aspires to represent.

Kusamotu, a lawyer said the federal government’s budget for next year is an indication that the economy of the nation would develop, noting that about 30 per cent of the proposed budget is for capital projects.

While maintaining that the change promised by Buhari during his campaign is a gradual one, Prince Kusamotu appealed to Nigerians not to be despair with Buhari's administration assuring that by the last quarter of 2016, economic situation of Nigeria would have changed positively.

He said: "I will urge Nigerians to be patient with President Buhari in his desire to transform the nation. Yes, he promised change but we should all remember that it is a gradual change.

"Nigerians have started witnessing the change in terms of fight against corruption but by the last quarter of next year, economic impact of Buhari's administration will be greatly felt. Government will soon pump money into capital projects and this will assist in boosting our economy," Kusamotu added.

Kusamotu who dished out christmas largess to the people of his federal constituency advised the federal government to ensure that the military and other security agencies adhere to the rule of law in discharging their duties.

kusamotu while disclosing that judgement would soon be delivered on the case he instituted in court over the refusal of the leadership of APC in Osun state to issue a nomination form for the House of Representatives despite paying the sum of N2 million expressed hope of getting victory.

"I did not give up my ambition. As I speak with you, we are still in court with APC and we believe we have a fair chance of wining the case and the court will declare a proper representative of this constituency."
