Ortom restates commitment to recovering looted funds

Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has restated the resolve of his administration to pursue and recover stolen funds and property of the state from looters.
Ortom stated this Monday at the IBB Square in Makurdi during a reception organized for him by the All Progressives Congress after the Supreme Court affirmed his victory in the last election.
The Governor who also reiterated his administration’s zero tolerance for corruption, expressed his readiness to ensure that the commonwealth of the state shall be used for the advancement of the cause of the generality of the Benue people.
“We shall put facts before you. We have resolved that the commonwealth of the state shall be in truth, the commonwealth of all our people and we shall whole heartedly commit it to advancing the cause.”
“We shall pursue and recover for the state, public money and property converted to personal use. Once we receive the reports of the various investigative panels, we shall tell you who took from the common wealth of the people and how we shall recover every kobo and property of the people in the hands of anybody no matter how highly placed.”
While commending everyone in the state who stood by him during the trying times of litigation, he urged all citizens of the state to drop political cleavages and focus on the Benue project for the future of the present and children yet unborn.
